To experience long daylight hours and mild weather, we recommend you visit in the summer. This is a great time to enjoy outdoor activities, boat tours and wildlife sightings. Bear in mind that the months of June, July, August and September are the most popular for trips to Northern Europe.

If you’d like to travel when it’s a bit quieter, go in the spring or autumn (May or October). You’ll find fewer visitors at top attractions but you still get a good amount of daylight hours.

Or time your trip for the winter (November to March or April), which tends to be the quietest season. All of our vehicles are spacious, clean and comfortable. We cover all group sizes from 1 to 16, so the size of your vehicle will depend on the size of your party.

As an example, you might travel in a Land Cruiser in Iceland if you are a group of 3. If your party has between 4 and 9 passengers, you could tour Iceland in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter.

In Scotland, on the other hand, your vehicle may be a luxury 4x4 or saloon car if there are up to 3 people in your group. One of the options for parties of 3 to 6 is a Volkswagen Transporter. Meanwhile, groups of up to 15 passengers might travel in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter minibus.

We can accommodate large groups for our private tours of Northern Europe, although each destination has slightly different regulations.

For private tours of Iceland, you can book directly on our website if there are up to 9 people in your party. For groups of 10 or more, we’ll give you a custom tour quote and booking link.

For private tours of Scotland, you can reserve your trip online if there are up to 6 people in your party. For a larger group, we’ll provide a custom booking link for you.

In Scotland you can travel in a private group of up to 7 people for as long you like. However, for parties of 8 and above, a 6-day tour with one guide would be the maximum duration. This is due to minibus tour regulations in the UK.

Tipping is rather different in Europe compared to North America. Here, tipping your guide is entirely up to you. While a tip is not expected by your guide, we have no doubt that the gesture would be greatly appreciated.

Usually you would meet your travel guide on the second day of your trip, once you’re rested and refreshed after travelling.

When you first arrive, your private transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel in comfort and style. You then have the rest of the day to relax and explore your arrival city at your leisure.

However, if you’d like more time to explore independently, you can always choose to meet your guide on the third day of your trip.
