CANCELLATION PROTECTION
Protect your booking and payments with Nordic Visitor’s Cancellation Protection. This protection covers you from financial losses that might occur if you need to cancel your tour.
This protection includes a unique set of terms and conditions. If you do not have the Cancellation Protection, then our standard cancellation terms apply.
With Nordic Visitor’s Cancellation Protection, you can choose between:
- Rebook your tour, on one occasion, without any change fees. You may choose the new dates of your tour at any time within 36 months from the cancellation date.

Or cancel for any reason and receive a partial refund and travel credit as follows:
- With more than 72 hours' notice before your scheduled tour arrival date, your deposit will be held as a travel credit¹ and the remaining will be refunded² to you.
- With less than 72 hours’ notice before your scheduled tour arrival date, 50% will be held as travel credit with the remaining 50% refunded to you.
The following terms also apply:
- The Cancellation Protection can be purchased on most tour packages from our website including self-drive, private, multi-day, independent and small group tours. It is not valid for any tours in Lapland or Greenland, nor for any tours with a 50% minimum non-refundable deposit.
- This protection does not cover group bookings (10+ guests). For this, please see our standard terms.
- If you decide to pay a 20% deposit at the time of booking, you will receive the Cancellation Protection free of charge.
- Not covered by the Cancellation Protection - Cancelling part of a shared service (such as hotel room, private transfer, rental car, optional activities, etc.) - Most standard tour packages include costs based on two or more people sharing. This might include sharing a room, car, transfer or other service. For this reason, if one person or more cancels from the booking, we will refund individual costs where possible. For accommodation, refunds are not generally possible as rooms often cost the same for one person.
- Not covered by the Cancellation Protection – Cancelling specific services before arrival or during your trip - The Cancellation Protection covers your whole tour package. It does not cover individual services, hotels or rental cars that are cancelled by you shortly before arrival or during your trip. This depends on the cancellation notice and on the terms of the supplier. Cancellation fees might arise closer to the date of this service.
- The Cancellation Protection does not replace travel insurance. We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance before your trip as it provides another level of protection while you travel. There are numerous insurance providers online, offering policies with varying levels of coverage to protect your finances in the event of illness or other medical emergencies, lost or damaged luggage, flight cancellation, trip curtailment, theft, and much more.
- In the event that your tour is cancelled due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances in your Nordic Visitor destination, which make it impossible to travel safely to your destination (such as warfare, significant risk to human health, natural disaster, etc.), a full refund will be issued in accordance with the EU Package Travel Directive.
- Cancellation Protection is not commissionable for third-party travel agents.
¹ Travel credit can be used by you, your friends or family members as a payment towards a new Nordic Visitor booking. This must be booked through us within 36 months of the cancellation date. Your travel credits can be applied to any of our destinations.
² The refunded amount is the total amount paid to date, minus the initial deposit which will be held as travel credit. Any flights, trains or cruises will be deducted from the refund amount.
