Photo of the Month: One Last Hurrah

What makes Iceland Complete so... complete? Well, the combination of the classic Ring Road with the Snæfellsnes peninsula and the stunning Westfjords sure does cover a lot of Iceland's landmass!

When Carsten and Eva Peetz ventured out on their Iceland Complete tour in September 2015 they saw it all, did it all and loved every minute! They also took a bunch of great pictures from their journey and shared them with us to win our Nordic Photo of the Month contest.

Join Carsten and Eva in reliving their complete tour of Iceland through their winning photo and some others from their adventure.

"We wanted a really memorable holiday," says Carsten of the Iceland Complete that he and his wife, Eva, embarked on in September 2015. "This was our belated honeymoon and now we're expecting a baby so this will be the last long trip for ourselves."

Carsten and Eva spent 14-days circling Iceland on Nordic Visitor's Iceland Complete tour.

Though Eva had been to Iceland as a child on a family holiday, on this trip as husband and wife the couple wanted to see it all over again. At the top of their wish list were the waterfalls, the horses (for Eva) and the Jökulsárlon glacier lagoon (for Carston).

The stunning Hengifoss, in the country's east, was a favourite of Carston and Eva, who stopped for some fun and creative photos at the site.

Says Carston of their 14-day tour all over Iceland: "Everything was a highlight. The ferry to to Westfjords, Látrabjarg cliffs, all the fjords, riding the ponies*, the northern lights, every waterfall -- especially Hengifoss and Góðafoss -- Hverarönd, Lake Mývatn and the glacier lagoon. Everything!"

* Editor note: calling an Icelandic horse a "pony" really hurts their feelings.

You never know when 3... or 30! sheep will pop up in the road, so keep your eyes peeled, as Carston suggests.

Carston also has some advice for prospective travellers in Iceland: "Take enough time for your journey (with a lot of sd-cards for the camera!) and stay a minimum of one night in the lovely Hrifunes Guesthouse, with a lovely proprietress. And please watch out for the sheep!"

While Carston spent much of his time behind the camera, Eva hammed it up practicing her yoga at Vatnsfjörður (top), leaping at Hverarönd (the winning photo, bottom left) and tasting the rainbow at Dettifoss (bottom right).
